John plays three tracks from the NME album Sgt. Pepper Knew My Father (the songs from the fairly well-known Beatles LP done by various artists).
This is the first show on BFBS following his trip to Russia: the dates have been altered to allow for the week's absence that he refers to in the opening of 04 March.
(JP:: 'The very best record of all time, as far as I'm concerned. In case it sounded a bit scratchy to you, the reason for that is that it's a bit scratchy because I played it from the LP that I bought when it first came out and used to play it at home, and when it got to...the twangy guitar bit in the middle, I just turned it up, louder and louder and louder as it went on twanging. My dad used to go mad, banging on the wall, either that goes or I go. That's the reason why it sounds very scratchy, but particularly at that point.')
