Livewire is a student radio station run by students of the University of East Anglia. Shows are broadcast live throughout the day from 08:10 till 00:15, and include a variety of shows with differing musical themes, currently with a predominant trend towards new music. Broadcasts go out live online via livewire1350.com. In 2016 the station rebranded to Livewire (dropping the 1350).

Peel opening Livewire radio station in 1989

Livewire was first broadcast in 1989, opened by John Peel, when he received an honorary degree by the university and is known as one of the longest running student radio stations in the country. Greg James of BBC Radio One presented several shows on the station when he was studying at the university.
