Miguel Trost De Pedro (born July 27, 1979), better known by his stage name Kid606, is an electronic musician who was raised in San Diego and later moved to San Francisco. He is most closely associated with the glitch, IDM, hardcore techno and breakcore scenes.
Kid606's music is similar to the work of his friend and colleague Lesser, as well as acts such as Atari Teenage Riot, Autechre, Mr. Oizo, and Matmos. He is primarily inspired not by his electronic contemporaries, but by his love of the industrial music, death metal, and industrial metal of the 1980s and 1990s, particularly bands like Godflesh and Napalm Death. His music is known for its high tempo breakbeats and liberal use of noise and sampling, as well as its punk aesthetic, uninhibited genre-mixing, and irreverent sense of humor.

Links To Peel[]
Peel played the debut Kid606 album “Don't Sweat The Technics” in 1998 and continued to give regular airtime to releases and remixes by the American electronic artist in the years that followed. There was just one session, recorded with Remote Viewer in 2000, with a scheduled second set on 23 October 2002 unexpectedly failing to materialize.[1]
The DJ also aired live festival recordings of Kid606, from both Sonar (2002) and All Tomorrow's Parties (2004). After Peel appeared with Kid606 at ATP, the pair also featured together on the lineup of the "Tryptych 04" event in Edinburgh, alongside Dr Alimantado, Earl Gateshead, DJ Rupture and Knifehandchop.[2]
Peel appeared to stop giving airtime to Kid606 records after ATP, where the musician had abruptly cut short the playing of Teenage Kicks at the climax of JP's own DJ spot. Introducing the Kid606 live set on his 08 April 2004 show, Peel recalled the incident:
"Now, friends, picture the scene. At All Tomorrow's Parties, clapped-out DJ seguing records to incurious audience, finishing his set with the Undertones. Up jumps Kid606, takes off Teenage Kicks and goes like this ..."
Perhaps pointedly, Peel followed the broadcast of the Kid606 ATF set with a full uninterrupted play of his all-time favourite record.
Elsewhere, Peel played many releases on the Tigerbeat6 label, which was run by Kid606. Other Tigerbeat6 artists who did Peel sessions include DJ Rupture, Knifehandchop, Max Tundra, and Numbers. In October 2003, Tigerbeat6 was selected as a Peel Label Of The Month for the BBC website.
A year after Peel’s death, Kid606 appeared live from Liverpool on the John Peel Day Radio One tribute special.[3]
