J Church

J Church was an American punk rock band formed by the guitarist and vocalist Lance Hahn (one of a few Asian-American punk vocalists) and the bass guitarist Gardner Maxam in 1992 in San Francisco, California, after the demise of their former band, Cringer. The group continued through numerous line-up changes and released a number of vinyl records and CDs before Hahn's death in 2007, who had been suffering from kidney-related medical problems since 1999.

The band were regularly played by Peel in the 90's and had their only session on his show in 1993. Peel described their track Good Judge Of Character as the "Yank sizzler destined to be a pop hit", on their 7" EP, She Never Leaves The Neighborhood [1], which featured three tracks from their Peel session.
