IQ Zero

IQ Zero were an indie band from Blackburn, Lancashire UK in existence between 1978 and 1981.

They featured on Object Music's Manchester Collection LP of bands of the Manchester Musician's Collective who regularly played at the city's famous Band On The Wall Club

They also released a single called Insects in 79/80 on Object Music. In 1980 they released She's So Rare on Logo Records, but despite this being the same label as housed Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) the single did not break.

The band's main writer, Mick Duffy, became a northern correspondent for rock music paper New Musical Express.

In 1981 fragments of the band reformed as Bamboo Zoo and recorded an album Look! Listen! Consume! and a single 'Ghost Party'. They had a John Peel Session and favourable critical reviews before disappearing from sight.
