Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters are an American rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. It was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl following the death of Kurt Cobain and the resulting dissolution of his previous band. The group got its name from the UFOs and various aerial phenomena that were reported by Allied aircraft pilots in World War II, which were known collectively as foo fighters.  Over the course of the band's career, four of its albums have won 11 Grammy Awards winning Best Rock Album four times and the group have sold over 10 million albums in the U.S. alone.

Links To Peel[]

Peel played their debut single This Is A Call in 1995 on his show, but never seemed to play any of their other material, apart from when he was sitting in for Mark Radcliffe's show in 1996 and co-hosting with Steve Lamacq. The Oxes did a cover version of the band's Everlong track during their Peel Session on 05 June 2002.
