Carnastoan

Carnastoan was a Handsworth, Birmingham based British reggae band consisting of Everal ‘Neville’/‘Bulba’ Brown (Lead Vocal/Rhythm Guitar), Neville ‘Didgee’ King (Keyboards), Conrad Kelly (Drums), Anthony ‘Boot’ Bennett (Bass) and Leo Green (Congas/Percussion).

The band recorded two acclaimed sessions at Maida Vale Studios, London for Radio One’s John Peel Sessions on 01/12/1981 and 29/09/1982.

The artwork for the bands only release Sweet Melody/Mr Workhard was done by artist Alvin Kelly, older brother of the bands drummer Conrad Kelly.

Despite the band only releasing one single on their own Carna Stoan label, Peel was enthusiastic about the band's music to do two sessions for his programmes.
