Hi, this message is probably more towards Weatherman22 than anyone else, but I would like to know whether he knows if Rich200 has the Peel session from the great African kora player called Toumani Diabate, who did a Peel session, I believe broadcast on 2nd November 1989. I know most tapes so far of Rich200 have come from John Peel's 1989 shows and I'm hoping that Toumani Diabate session is on that, as I would love to hear it. Many thanks in advance.

Forgive me, this is the first time I have done this, but I have got several Peel shows from one of the torrents that somebody uploaded many years ago that is not currently available on the mooo server or mediafire. I uploaded a Peel show from 13th December 2000 on the mooo server just a couple of hours ago. Is this the right way in uploading a file on the mooo server, or do I have send a message on the Peel Yahoo site informing about the files before uploading it on the mooo server ?

As all Peel-ites know, the Festive Fifty of 1997 had only 31 entries played on BBC Radio One. However on the rocklist website, they mentioned 19 songs that were not played (i.e. songs from number 50 to number 32). I want to know where were those 19 songs published ? Were they published on music newspapers such as the NME or did rocklist made up the list ?

Does anyone know if there has been a copy of John Peel presenting the UK's Top 40 Singles chart countdown on BBC Radio 1 in January 2003.
According to an old BBC News website, he was to present a one-off Top 40 chart countdown show after Mark Goodier (Top 40 chart broadcaster) left Radio 1 for Classic FM to do their chart.

Had a couple of recent queries on the old Guestbook (now deleted due to spam). Forwarded them both to the Peel Mailing List (no real joy yet) but let me put them back up here. Please help if you can:

Hi everyone. I'm trying to track down a song played by John circa 1993. My brother thinks it was on the 'Guitar Storm' show (4/9/93) but I've seen the playlist and can't identify what I'm looking for. Brief description: Begins w/ slow acoustic guitar, lyrics 'Hey Elaine don't you know that we all can't fly the way you do'......etc. After a couple of verses heavy drums and fuzz bass join howling electric guitar and singers repeats 'Elaine Montgomery' a few times and song ends. Amazing! Sounds grungy Nirvana-ish??? Anybody out there have any id…

Not sure if it's a good idea or not. What do you think? Idea is to replace Guestbok, which got spamed to death. And any thoughts on the new three-level navigation? Can always change it back if it's too horrible.

Hi folks,
The next stage of the new Wikia rollout is due soon and ahead of that I'd like to see what people think on the subject of a site logo. At the current top left of every page in the new look, you'll see "John Peel Wiki" written as a blue link, which leads to the front page.
There are a few different typefaces I can alter this to, but I don't think these are a great improvement.
One thing that is possible is to have our own graphic logo (which would also act as a link to the front page). If sized correctly, this could at least make the name of the site stand out a bit more (rather than being overshadowed by the wikia bar at the top of the page).
I'm far from being any kind of design person, but have knocked up a quick one in line with t…
