Arisili Village tribesmen from Papua New Guinea are renowned for playing Jew's harps, which consists of a flexible metal or bamboo tongue or reed attached to a frame. The tongue/reed is placed in the performer's mouth and plucked with the finger to produce a note.

Peel played a recording of the Jew's harp from the Arisili Village tribesmen on his Night Ride shows in the late 60's, which later became part of John Peel's Archive Things album, released in 1970.
