- This is the first 45 minutes of the show only.
- Peel starts the show by counting down from ten to one, and admits afterwards that by the time he got to seven, he regretted doing it!
- He refers to a recent holiday in France, and the regret that as a result he missed seeing the Four Brothers play live.
- Following the play of the first Four Brothers track, he gets a phone call from Andy Kershaw stating that it is the first time 'in quite a while' JP's show has made him want to dance.
- Before the Hollies track, John mentions that they currently have a single at number one. The track he is referring to is the re-release of 'He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother', which he declares to be one of the worst things they ever recorded, and the track he plays as one of the best.
