The official release of Family's Peel session on "Family At The BBC" (7XCD, Madfish, 2018) and "Fearless (Deluxe Edition)" (3XCD, Esoteric Recordings, 2023)" includes three songs sourced from an off-air recording that includes John Peel's links. A very careful comparison between the ending of "Save Some For Thee" on the rebroadcast on 06 October 1971 reveals that the recording comes from the original broadcast. Athough the link itself is not available, on the repeat, Peel is heard smacking his lips before speaking at the end of the song, which doesn't happen here.
The Brotherhood Of Breath track is known to have been played because on the Top Gear of 24 July 1971, Peel introduced the session version of it and mentioned that he'd played the LP version the previous week, as the closing track of the show.
Loudon Wainwright III #1, recorded 18th May 1971, repeat, first broadcast 22 May 1971. First broadcast of ‘Four Is A Magic Number’. A selection of tracks released on The BBC Sessions (CD, Strange Fruit, 1998).
