Comments
  • Apologises for getting the news about Siouxsie & The Banshees splitting up completely wrong the night before (11 September 1979).
  • Proclaims (seriously) that the new Status Quo single is one that he "likes very much" and that he's always been fond of the band. Describes travelling to Dublin with them and being friendly with Francis Rossi, who he respects for his attitude towards the fans - specifically their appearance on Jim'll Fix It where they fixed it for a young fan to play with them!
  • Goes on to say his Jim'll Fix It choice would be to go for a drink with Prince Charles as he seems interesting. Peel would in fact meet Prince Charles, when he awarded him the OBE at Buckingham Palace in 1998.
  • Implores people to tune in for The Prats session the following night as it's "excellent ... one of those ones people will talk about."
  • Tracklisting also available at John Peel Papers. Many thanks to the uploader to the John Peel Papers at Facebook for sharing the information. [1]
