Comments
  • Partial show (final 50 minutes).
  • Plays track by Can but then says it seems a bit boring and admits disappointment with latest album.
  • Reads Charles Shaar Murray review of Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, then calls him "a ninny."
  • Went to see Etta James concert earlier that evening and seems to have enjoyed it a lot.
  • Erroneously refers to Lindisfarne album as 'Back To the Fourth'.

Sessions

  • Blast Furnace & The Heatwaves, one and only session, recorded 1978-06-19. Originally broadcast on the Kid Jensen show, 1978-07-03. No known commercial recording available. Missing tracks: 'Keep On Dancing' and 'Write Me A Letter'. The lead singer and harmonica player was Charles Shaar Murray, the very man whose review of Lydia Lunch and Teenage Jesus & The Jerks is derided by Peel.

Tracklisting

Peel's closing comments: "Oh my goodness me, what a twerp I am eh? Of course, there are worse - no names, no pack drill, but er..."
JP: "How did that get in here?"
Midnight news in full read by Paddy O'Byrne.
