  • Full show now available. Partial version was previously available on torrent compilation. See File section at the bottom of this page for details.
  • JP mentions that old friend John Fiddler was a member of former Dandelion band (and big Peel favourites) Medicine Head as well as the British Lions.
  • Two weekend gigs. Second at Manchester Polytechnic the previous day, which he says he enjoyed more than any gig in the past couple of years. Bands were Shell Robinson, Couple Of Poets, Friction Burns, Aural Systems, Cheaters, Things, The Check, The Cells, Hairdressers, Armed Force, Diagram Brothers and Elti Fits. Requests from Manchester will be read the following evening.
  • Many requests from the previous Friday at Leeds University, where he says was spat at for the first time in about 18 months. Adds that he thought only Swedish tourists at the Marquee still did this.
  • Relates story of improvising a lecture several years earlier to students at Leeds Polytechnic, with support from a crate of light ale. Says he hasn't been invited back.
  • Describes the Nina Hagen track as "music to skin cats to."
  • Plays wrong side of the Bodysnatchers single.
  • Final Undertones session track is a cover of the Gary Glitter hit, with a snatch of T-Rex's 'Ride A White Swan' thrown in at the end for good measure.
  • Full tracklisting is also available at John Peel Papers (currently misfiled as 3 Oct 1980). Many thanks to the uploader to John Peel Papers at Facebook for sharing the information.[1]
