Mark Coles: "Before setting off for a holiday in Peru, John Peel recorded three programmes to air in the three weeks that he'd be away. He couldn't have known it at the time, but those programmes that were put in the can for the World Service turned out to be his very last. With the blessing of his family and as a tribute to John, over the next three weeks we're going to be broadcasting those final programmes, full as you'd expect of John's eclectic tastes, his humour and above all his passion for music from all around the world."
Start of show: "Hello again, it's John Peel on the BBC World Service. There's a rather feeble theme running through four of the records that I have for you this week. This record is not a part of that process."
