• John Peel Show
  • BBC Radio One
  • 2002-06-05
  • Start of show: "Mmm, I don't think so." (In reply to "I'm sure there's going to be more than one unpleasant surprise before we're done.")
  • The Ramones oldie is played as a request for an 11-year-old listener.
  • Oxes track 'Panda Strong' is on the band's first album, but the live session version is listed as 'Panda Song' in Ken Garner's Peel Sessions.
  • Another old Marc Bolan song is played ahead of the upcoming Sex Clark Five covers session (broadcast 11 June 2002).
  • A postcard has arrived asking what happened to Peel's run through of tracks played on the final Perfumed Garden (see Final Perfumed Garden Revisited): "I'd been doing it for three or four weeks and nobody had said anything about it at all, so in rather a sulky manner I just stopped doing it. And then said anything about it then either, so I thought I was wasting my time. Since then I've had a couple of letters about it, but it just seemed to have been a bad idea really."

  • Oxes #1 Live at Maida Vale. No known commercial release.
