Mexico (Spanish: México), officially the United Mexican States (Spanish: Estados Unidos Mexicanos), is a federal republic in the southern half of North America. The country is bordered to the north by the United States; to the south and west by the Pacific Ocean; to the southeast by Guatemala, Belize, and the Caribbean Sea; and to the east by the Gulf of Mexico. Covering almost two million square kilometres (over 760,000 sq mi), Mexico is the sixth largest country in the Americas by total area and the 13th largest independent nation in the world. With an estimated population of over 120 million, it is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country in the world while being the second most populous country in Latin America. Mexico is a federation comprising thirty-one states and a Federal District, its capital and largest city.

Nuevo Laredo in Mexico

According to Margrave Of The Marshes, Peel and his friend Harry crossed the American/Mexican border in 1962 from the US city of Laredo to the Mexican city of Nuevo Laredo to visit Harry's favourite brothel. Sheila, Peel's wife, in the book mentioned what happened:

"It would, by this point, be perfectly natural to be wondering what decadent experiences were waiting in store for John during his visit to a Mexican brothel with his friend Harry in 1962 - that was, after all, the point at which John's telling of his own story ended, in true cliffhanger fashion. But I have it on good authority - John's authority, in fact - that he was involved in this visit, and others like it, only as companion to Harry, and would loiter outside for him until the business transaction in question had been completed to the satisfaction of all parties."[1]
